The female reproductive organs include the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, vagina and vulva. Since the combined primary function of these organs is reproduction, disorders affecting these organs often result in infertility. Disorders that affect more than one female organ are endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease. Disorders that affect the ovaries include ovarian cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome and ovarian cancer. Disorders affecting the uterus include fibroids, uterine polyps, prolapsed uterus and uterine cancer. Disorders affecting the cervix include cervical cancer and disorders affecting the vagina and vulva are cancer of the two, vaginal thrush and infection in the vulva or vagina.

Dysmenorrhe,fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer and PMS are also conditions that afflict women. Overall, female disorders are quite common; many women will develop one or more of them during their lifetime.
